What sets ANTILAX™ apart from other laser skin tightening technology is that it uses a combination of laser energy and radiofrequency (RF) energy. These two energies work together to provide more effective treatment and increased patient comfort. ANTILAX™ Skin Tightening is a minimally invasive, non-surgical process that uses a combination infrared light source (a laser) and alternating radio-frequency (electromagnetic energy) to tighten skin by heating the collagen under the skin’s surface, causing the skin to contract (tighten). ANTILAX™ Skin Tightening uses a combination of infrared laser and electromagnetic energies to heat the lower levels of the skin, known as the mid and deep dermis.
The computer controlled heat causes the soft tissues of the dermis to coagulate, and firm which lends a more plump and youthful appearance to the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. While the deeper layers of the skin are heated, the outer layer of skin, or the epidermis, is simultaneously cooled, ensuring that the skin is not burned and that the patient remains comfortable for the duration of his or her skin tightening treatment.
Skin tightening treatment also encourages the growth of new collagen in the treated areas. Medical Considerations
There are very few risks associated with ANTILAX™ Skin Tightening, as it does not require surgery. Skin tightening is safe for men and women of all skin tones who are in good health and desire firmer, more youthful-looking skin. Patients prone to cold-sore breakouts or people who have skin cancers need additional medical considerations. Pregnant women and patients with pace-makers should not receive skin tightening treatments. Patients who scar easily and develop keloids, and people using acne medications should discuss the chance of adverse reactions to skin tightening with the doctor prior to the procedure. |
